Educators Expo Employer Information
U.Va.'s Curry School of Education sponsors the annual Educators' Expo 2-day event. Day 1 is an Job Fair format. Day 2 is an Interviews only format. Typically, recruiters find it most beneficial to participate both days. However, it is possible to participate in the job fair portion only, if not interested in interviewing at this early time of year:
Day 1: Thursday, February 11, 2010 (Job Fair) 10am-2pm
Day 2: Friday, February 12, 2010 (Interviews) 8:30am-3:30pm

Are you looking for summer, part-time, and/or full-time employees? Meet with 400+ candidates who attend each year seeking employment in the field of education. Attendees include virtually all of the December and May graduates from the Curry School of Education, as well as candidates from other majors and from other institutions . This event is open to all candidates interested in K-12 school counseling, administration, teaching or other positions (e.g. Speech Language Pathologists and Nurses). Over 85 organizations will be in attendance on 2/11 with many returning to interview on 2/12.
AGENDA for Thursday, February 11, 2010
8:30-9:45am - Employer Registration, UVA's Newcomb Hall 3rd floor hallway outside the Ballroom. Students will be arriving at 10am to meet with you, so we encourage you to check in early, pick up your registration materials, and set up your table prior to their arrival.
10am-2pm - Job Fair Open, Employers create your own interview schedules during this portion of the event. You will be emailed a sample schedule in advance of the event to facilitate your scheduling of candidates who contact you before 2/11/10.

8:30am-3:30pm - Candidate Interviews (scheduled by attending the previous days' Job Fair Portion).
REGISTRATION & FEES: Registration is online and will open in November 2009. Be sure to register early since the event typically fills due to limited space. Registration fees are $250 per table/per day. Fee allows for 4 Representatives on Day 1 ($50 fee for any additional Representatives), and 2 Representatives on Day 2 (2 Representatives per table is the maximum for interviewing).
LOCATION /DIRECTIONS: The Educators' Expo is held on the 3rd floor of Newcomb Hall at the University of Virginia. Driving Directions (expanded Maps available)
From I-64: Following signs to the U.VA Information Center, get off at exit 118B for the Route 29/250 Bypass. Go approximately 2 miles and take the off ramp for Route 250 East Business (Ivy Road). Turn right off the exit ramp and follow Ivy Road. At the third light, turn right on Route 29 Business/Emmet Street. Turn left into the University of Virginia parking garage (hourly fees), which is directly in front of Newcomb Hall.
From I-66 via US Route 29 North: Take I-66 from Northern Virginia past Manassas. Take the exit marked Route 29 South - Gainesville. Proceed to Charlottesville, where Route 29 becomes Emmet Street. Pass University Hall basketball arena on the right. Proceed straight through traffic light at the intersection of Route 250 Business (University Avenue/Ivy Road). Turn left into the University of Virginia parking garage (hourly fees), which is directly in front of Newcomb Hall.
ACCOMMODATIONS: We have arranged competitive rates with the following hotels, so be sure to book early and refer to UVA Educators' Expo to take advantage of these rates. Best Western Cavalier Inn for $77/night (book online at https://reservations.ihotelier.com/crs/g_reservation.cfm?groupID=398395&hotelID=15433 ) or the Charlottesville Doubletree Hotel for $89/night (call 800-494-9467). All have double or king sized beds. There are a limited number of rooms that may fill quickly, and blocks may be dropped starting 1/10/10 so be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible. Directions and Parking: *Please park in the Newcomb Hall parking garage and bring your parking stub from the entrance gate to the event for validation. (NB: Be sure to follow directions to the garage in front of Newcomb Hall and not the UVA Health System). If the parking garage fills up, there is limited alternate parking for employers at Alumni Hall. Please obtain a parking hang tag if redirected to this lot and make sure that the date is facing outward to avoid receiving a ticket.

LITERATURE / DISPLAYS: Any job fair displays and boxes should be shipped to U.Va. via Package Depot in Charlottesville and will be delivered to your booth prior to the event. Package Depot will be responsible for the return or forwarding of your parcels. Print the Package Depot Request for Service Form, fill it out, and then fax to alert their staff of your package's arrival. Please do not send literature or displays to the University of Virginia.
