THIRD GRADE BOOK LIST         Joan Kindig, Ed.D.

Read-alouds continue to be important.  They showcase book language and support acquisition of new vocabulary. The understanding of text structure, sequence, etc., supports comprehension – both in narrative/fiction and expository texts.

Picture books are still appropriate and necessary.  Many good informational picture books are also available.
