Nationally recognized for its excellence, the IT program at the University of Virginia's Curry School provides graduate students exposure to a wide range of emerging technologies, theories and practices, including:

The program's focus is not technology as an end in itself, but technology's integration with learning and teaching, and provides a collaborative environment of working partnerships within the University, the Charlottesville community and beyond.
The graduate curriculum in Instructional Technology at UVA provides its students with exposure to a wide range of emerging technologies, while ensuring the basic competencies required of all practitioners. Master's and doctoral graduates of the program have found career opportunities as instructional designers, interactive developers, information architects, training and technology coordinators, and change/process management specialists in business, industry, education, and government. Others go on to become university faculty members specializing in these areas.

Applying for Curry assistantships and fellowships is part of the admissions process. Doctoral students should submit the Curry School's Application for Departmental Aid with their admissions application. * NOTE that an academic or professional writing sample is now required as part of the PhD application. Please submit a paper or article, 8-12 pages long, on research or theory topics. |
